About the job

  • You restore and retouch existing decorative finishes in historic and residential interiors.

  • To do so, you prepare various surfaces using traditional methods (such as cleaning, sanding, filling, plastering, etc.).

  • You are responsible for applying traditional painting and decorative techniques in new or renovated spaces, such as:

    • marble, wood, and stone imitations

    • metallic finishes, patinas, glazes, and texture effects

    • stencil techniques and trompe-l’oeil

  • In addition to conducting colour research, you also carry out gilding work where required.

  • You work closely with project management to ensure careful execution in line with planning and quality standards.

Your profile

  • You have proven experience as a decorative or restoration painter, or you are a specialist in interior finishing.

  • You have received training in traditional painting techniques. Training at Van der Kelen is a strong asset.

  • You have experience working with different types of paint (e.g. acrylic, oil, and lime-based paints).

  • Thanks to your precise approach and attention to detail, you always strive for the best results.

  • You hold a category B driving licence and have your own vehicle, and are willing to travel to our sites (across Flanders).

  • You are fluent in Dutch or French.
